Hot off the heels of a successful launch of the ADIBOT UV-C Disinfection System at CES 2021, UBTECH Robotics partnered with Christina School District in Delaware to deploy four ADIBOT-S units into two of their schools. The pilot program objective was to assist with the precautionary measures the schools had already taken due to the pandemic to keep staff and students safe while running a hybrid-schedule of in-class participation.

The goal of the pilot program was to work with the school staff to add in an extra layer of protection to their daily routine that helped keep staff and students comfortable and safe while on school grounds.
At the start of the program, the initial feedback from 77% of the pilot program participants was that they would readily adopt another layer of disinfection if it were possible. But would ADIBOT work within their current workload?

At the end of the pilot program, 100% of the pilot program participants believed ADIBOT-S integrated into their existing classroom and school cleaning procedures efficiently. 89% of participants said ADIBOT-S was easy to use.

It was great to hear directly from the staff using and interacting with the ADIBOT system on how UBTECH can improve the product and continue to help streamline their workload while feeling more comfortable being on the front lines of the pandemic.

The district’s superintendent, Dan Shelton, said testing the ADIBOT system was one of several strategies they have investigated and invested as they work towards a new normal. “We need to get back to some sort of a new normal where our students are going to have what they need so that they can be successful. And we need to make sure that our teachers and our staff feel comfortable in the buildings, if we’re going to bring students back.”

UBTECH’s ADIBOT system provides a safe way to help schools, businesses and organizations open safely by inactivating 99.9% of harmful pathogens in areas where people need and want to be without the use of harmful chemicals or costly downtimes.

As businesses and schools struggle to reopen and stay open as a result of COVID-19, the teams here at UBTECH Robotics are answering the call.

Officially launching at CES 2021 we are unveiling three new product lines including the powerful UV-C disinfection robot system, ADIBOT. The ADIBOT robotic system combines our robotics and AI expertise with UV-C technology that disinfects targeted surfaces and air by deactivating the DNA and RNA of harmful pathogens. There are two models debuting at CES: ADIBOT-S the stationary model and ADIBOT-A the autonomous model. The ADIBOT system both feature 360° radiant light coverage and powerful UV-C disinfection to effectively disinfect 99.9 percent of targeted areas. The ADIBOT robots are available for purchase starting now and will ship in January for ADIBOT-S and May for ADIBOT-A.

Additionally, because our robotic manufacturing and AI foundations were already in place, our ADIBOT robots are a premium robotic solution at tens of thousands of dollars less than other market offerings. Our teams worked quickly to bring a cost-effective solution to the market that would allow for this technology to be utilized by organizations that may not have had access to this type of technology previously like schools, gyms, or doctor’s offices.

We are proud to announce we are currently working with the State of Delaware’s Department of Education to pilot ADIBOT across multiple sites to measure cost efficiency, disinfection rates and maintenance improvements within their establishments.

“The Delaware Department of Education, the Office of Equity and Innovation, is pleased to have the opportunity to partner on a pilot with UBTECH and the Christina School District. This endeavor is using new technology in order to sanitize and disinfect above and beyond the current practices used. This additional technology usage not only helps to further advance safety but goes a long way to provide an additional level of comfort for staff, parents, students, and the community at large. We are grateful for the opportunity to be innovative and look forward to assisting on this project,” said James Simmons, chief equity officer, Delaware Department of Education.

While our ADIBOT robotic disinfections are able to create solutions that address immediate needs, we are also debuting two additional new product lines that continue our efforts to make everyday life easier for people now and in the future.

AMR: Intelligent Logistics Robotic System – AMR ushers in a new era of automation to improve operational efficiency. With a unique modular system, businesses can scale their needs from the entry-level model up to and utilizing extension modules that expand functionality to meet their business needs. The AMR system can adapt to numerous environments and integrate with various applications to help further automate operational needs. The AMR Intelligent Logistics system will be available later this year.
JIMU GO – As creators of the popular, award-winning JIMU Robot line, UBTECH is launching a new, updated modular STEM kit system to continue the mission of preparing all kids for a future in STEM and robotics. UBTECH will release three kits in Q4 2021: Robot Speedster Kit, Music Box Maker Kit, and Mars Rover Kit.
Our AMR and JIMU GO products will be available later in 2021, follow our social and sign up for email notifications to stay in the know about these official launches.

Although CES 2021 may be an unusual, virtual experience this year, we are excited to participate in this showcase and to bring our robotic solutions to the global communities. Stay tuned for more information and please contact us here for more information on any questions to our new product lines.

During the 2021 Consumer Electronic Show (CES), UBTECH announced our debut of two UV-C powered robots, the ADIBOT disinfection robots, designed to help fight against the COVID-19 virus as well as other airborne pathogens and bacteria. What makes the ADIBOT system so unique is that here at UBTECH, we have continued our quest to create robotics that improve people’s lives. By utilizing our vertical integrated manufacturing and expertise in robotics and AI software, we’ve also been able to create this robotic system in a cost-effective manner that brings potent, fast UV-C disinfection to businesses that may not have had the opportunity to explore this option before. Businesses and organizations like medical and dental offices, schools, gyms, and even transportation methods can now choose to provide fast and effective disinfection using cutting-edge UV-C technology.

BUT WHY CHOOSE UV-C?

UV-A and UV-B have been in the regular vernacular for several decades now as ultraviolet rays that expose humans to sun damage and splashed across sunscreen bottles and apparel everywhere. UV-C is higher energy wavelength and allows penetration at the cellular level, disabling the DNA and RNA of the virus, thus not permitting reproduction of the virus. UV-C was discovered to deactivate airborne and surface-based pathogens during the measles outbreak in 1933. UV irradiation began during that time to help disinfect hospitals and operating rooms. The practices of utilizing UV-C light for disinfection has since been used to help “reduce transmission of TB, pandemic influenza, and other major airborne infectious threats.[1]”

Fast forward almost 100 years, we are now in a global pandemic where businesses and students are indirectly affected because of the fast-spreading virus. Although modern medicine breakthroughs have yielded a vaccine and social distancing measures have been implemented globally, everyone still needs to be diligent. A November 2020 McKinsey study found that herd immunity is not likely to be reached until Q4 2021 or even Q1 2022 [2]. And that is only likely if all the steps to reach herd immunity goes smoothly.

Also in November 2020 studies found that 40% of Americans surveyed that were not confident in the vaccine and would not opt into receiving it [3]. That makes up 131 MILLION people in the U.S. alone. We created ADIBOT robots to be a helpful component to this continued disinfection effort. To keep businesses, patrons, and employees safe during and after COVID-19, the ADIBOT disinfection system is an excellent supplement to regular cleaning and disinfection.

To learn more about how ADIBOT can help your business or organization. Reach out to us here and we’ll be in contact shortly. ADIBOT robots start at $20,000 USD and financing options are available.
